I spent half an hour sitting at a table near the Starbucks located below Scranton Commons. My findings were this:
7:15pm-7:45pm
Solely college students visit this location at this time. No professors or faculty were seen getting coffee.
The traffic was definitely slower than it is earlier in the day. On occasion I've gone there during the lunch hour because nobody is really there then either. People are usually just in line for the Subway downstairs from the Starbucks. So how do these two different times compare/contrast?
The people enter the line on the right and move to the left to order their drink at the cash register. Upon paying, they move more to the left to where their drink will be given to them upon completion. Total time for this maneuver can vary depending on how complicated your drink is, but I've found that it ranges anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes.
You have to use flex, cash, or a gift card if you have one.
This data presents that the Starbucks process is quick and easy. It is good if you are on your way to class and need some caffeine because it won't take long to get it.
It also tells me the type of people who go there. Mostly students, though I'm sure at another time maybe professors occasionally go get coffee there. The only down side I can see is that frequent use of this place can deplete your flex significantly.
